UNITED WAY ‘KICKS-OFF’ AT
FALL FAIR
Uxbridge – United Way of Ajax-Pickering-Uxbridge
is “kicking-off” their 2004 campaign on
Saturday September 11th at the Fall Fair in Uxbridge.
This is the 34th annual fundraising campaign for United
Way, the first kick-off they have held in Uxbridge.
“We are extremely pleased to support residents
of the Township of Uxbridge with funding to their local
agencies,” says United Way’s Executive
Director Edna Klazek. “We look forward to interacting
with the community at the fair and answer any questions
they have about our organization.”
An informational booth will be setup at the fair,
describing the services and agencies that United Way
supports. Along with information, United Way Tattoos
and balloons for children will also be distributed
from the booth.
In addition to having an information booth setup at
the fair, United Way will also be entering a car into
the demolition derby. The derby is symbolic of United
Way’s plan to rebuild and strengthen the community.
The fundraising goal for the 2004 campaign is $1.7M. “With
continued support from the community of Uxbridge, we
are confident that we can achieve this goal and continue
funding to their local agencies.” Klazek noted.
